Hello regular journal readers and random clicky strangers, the Hipstery extends a warm welcome to you in this new year. Its been snowing like snow is going out of fashion here in Leipzig, check the view from the office window:

Begrudgingly we’ve returned back to work from the Christmas break, still a little groggy from sleep and consumption excess. Now we shake ourselves down, and prepare to develop the Hipstery into a mystery machine over the next year, its going to get bigger and oh so much better. With your help. That in mind, we’d like to ask you a question about one new potential feature, would you be interested in a yearly subscription to the Hipstery? Every month with absolutely no effort on your part, a Hipstery mystery package would drop on your doormat containing a shirt, a letter from us and whatever bonus shenanigans we decide to throw in there.
So assuming we would sell a one year subscription for less than the cost of 12 shirts and shipping, obviously depending on the price specifics, would you be interesting in acquiring one?

Another thought:
The gift subscription (obviously) with an iPod Shuffle type twist: Can I give you 11 addresses/sizes + mine and you’ll randomly select one address each month? This is mystery gifting deluxe! “I gave a gift to someone this month but I dont know who or what … oh hey, it was me!” Muahaha … a bit complicated, maybe.
I would LOVE to get a t a month but alas it would be too much of a splurge for me. Any chance that you might offer one every two months or half year subscripton? And welcome to 2010 yourselves! PS when you read my mail don’t ever say twenty ten or I will be quite angry! Thanks.

@tommi: Great idea. Organisational nightmare. Would need a different survey entry for each person to get something that matches their taste’s etc. But nice idea, so we can maybe steal some of it
Hum, as low as 3 months huh? I’m surprised that a few people have mentioned these lower time periods, so we’ll definitely consider it. Same with the idea of sending it elsewhere, just have to work out a simple way to manage that as we are not the most organized individuals, if we make it out of bed before lunch that’s considered a great success, almost worthy of taking the afternoon off. So simplicity is the key.
@Sue: splurge? Hum, yeah would be for me too I guess. 6mnth could work though.

Possibly a good combination of all the ideas (including feedback from other faithful Hipsterian Francesca would be 6mnth and 1year options (I think any less is probably too much of an admin headache and defeats the purpose), with a regular monthly mail which just informs you that it’s that time again, and you have 3 days to reply and say send it here instead, otherwise it will go to your usual address. Then if you elected to send it elsewhere we could actually email you a gift voucher so then you can come and redeem that, taking our gift survey for that person and then filling in their address. That make sense?
I really like this idea, but I want it to come with options. (Most of which have already been mentioned.)
For example:
3-month, 6-month and 12-month subscriptions
Gift membership where I can choose 1-2 people to receive shirts in addition to me receiving, say, 10 shirts
Question updates so that I can refresh my profile every 3 or 6 months to generate new formulas for the Hipstery scientists to work from
I voted for the “probably” option. If this were offered in the 3 or 6 month variety tomorrow, I’d almost definitely sign up. (And by “almost definitely,” I mean probably.)
I encourage you to do this.

+ I only have one address.
+ “no glitter” option, please.
+ no update questions required for me.
